So there I was, hundreds of feet above Lake Saline, in my "Scrub-Brush-Moustache-Man" hot air balloon, hoping to find one-of-a-kind photo opportunities. Then I looked straight down at the lake... and WOW!!!

For those who came of age in the 1970's and 80's and listened to classic rock, may remember this line which apply's to this image. "So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by"

This is quite an interesting photo. Of course the subtle coloring is grand, and I must say I really kind of like the squiggly lines and patterns, and yes, Boston was the group for "More than a Feeling", that is mentioned above, I also really like Nik's remarkably original take on this scene.

Tho' I am not quite as eloquent in my comments :) I have to agree with Nik and his reaction to this image...given the condition of this photo, it has the appearance of some mysterious man emerging from some unknown environment, possibly a treed area, and quite intriguing to ponder over...your subtle coloring is perfect for this one...it reminds me somewhat of the work of the 'trash artist' :)...great work and find, Rob, and a fave for me.

Rob, in the original B&W photo the 'natural framing' has the appearance that is was 'created' by spreading around sea water, therefore I thought/interpreted that it was an photographic illustration of Jules Verne's book Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, ☺ .

'Nik' and Pat (SAW) proof that another 'solution' is possible as well. Wouldn't amaze me that one of the future commenters would see a man in it who's trying to play peek a boo behind a Christmas tree.

There's no doubt however about the by you've done colorization/editing work: no interpretation possible, as you've done a perfect job.

Very interesting - too bad the photo was so damaged, would have loved to see it in full but of course you've done an outstanding job
