Frank's kids look like they are pretty tough. They also remind me of the "Little Rascals/Our Gang" serials from the 1930's.

Rob, based on the look on their faces, I think that these 'rascals' have just received a educative reprimand from their mother. The second child from the right is apparently not that much impressed, ☺ . Perhaps it was therefore your choice to put him, with your perfect way of colorization, into the limelight. If so, you've made the right choice, my friend!

I see John beat me to it as I was also going to say this little group reminds me of the 'Little Rascals'...good color choice for the outfit worn and the boy in the front as it does appear from his expression that he would be the 'leader' of this little gang.

Applying colorization to one child has succeeded tremendously on this capture.

Lee definitely wanted the boys to be the focus of the photo, leaving a part of mom on the left and grandma (most likely--an older woman) looking on from the darkness of the doorway. I have always felt that more candid portraits like this tell so much more about the personalities and lives of the subjects than structured poses. These Dirty Thirties photo journalists certainly caught the true pulse of the nation, and, as usual, your excellent colorization simply makes them real.
