This is a very emotional image to start with, and you managed to give it a lift with the colorization. I have to wonder now what ever become of this two children. The kitties held so tightly, and lovingly also touched me. tigs=^..^=

Wow! The boy hugging the kittens over-tight, the expression on the girl, the condition of their clothes (including the doll). Even though it isn't framed correctly, it becomes more expressive because it shows an incomplete story.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I think the tykes were showing off their prized possessions to the photographer--her doll and his kittens--because they both have that patented "child's impromptu show-and-tell" character about them. And as I discovered with the previous submission of Appalachian farm children you posted, Rob, just because their clothes are a bit unwashed and ragged, it doesn't necessarily mean these kids are. Everyone is capable of finding their own level of comfort in life, particularly if your level is as simple as a doll or a pet.
