This one is a study for me just wanted to see if I could colorize ...a horse of course... somehow I am sure there's a song/tune in them words. For sure the the older generation can figure it out happy hunting if your younger than 30 don't don't even bother you will never figure it out. Don't post the answer PM me and will announce the winner on Sunday. And think happy thoughts while strolling down memory lane.

I love this Rob, well done my friend, I like that the horse seems to be in great shape, and the contrast of the old barn, loosing ground.

Rob, I've missed in your narrative the link of the original B&W capture in order to compare it with the by you colorized version. If someone like to compare it as well, I'll provide the Caedes-friends with the link.

Referring to your additional comment, in which you say: "This one is a study for me. Just wanted to see if I could colorize.", honesty obliges me to say that you've giving the horse an apt color. But for the almost pink color of the saddle I would have chosen another, more brown leather-like color. But it's your, and by me well respected, choice.
I realize very well that my (constructive meant) critique resembles the English saying: "Bachelors' wives and maidens' children are well taught", or the Dutch equivalent: "The best helmsmen stand on shore", indicating that watchers like me always think to know better than the doers, ☺ .
Very good work however, my friend!

Huuummmmm....Big Grin from me C This one is a study for me just wanted to see if I could colorize ...a horse of course...of course...

C thank you for being honest the sadel was kind of a bother did not want to leave it in a monotone bruin color but my focus was one the horse so I got lazy did not think about it to much but I will correct it in rework of course..of course... even Bigger Grin thanks C it's one of my happy mistakes this is just for you my friend "waar gehakt wordt vallen spaanders" will let the other Caedes members google it but if they truly will understand it Loooolllll.

Personal message from tigger3 [27/06/18 0:12]:
The tv show songs title for Mr. Ed.

Pat coming in a strong second.. but this early bird could not compete with our Night Owl Tigs.

Personal message from mesmerized [27/06/18 7:14]:
A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.

And C ..kinda think went to bed early and just did not want to get up.

Personal message from corngrowth [27/06/18 11:45]:
Hello Rob,
Referring to your post Packing a horse, think the Mr. Ed (talking horse) theme could be the solution.

Thanks to my friends above for the kind words.

This looks like an old line camp (one of many), an outpost barn far out in the hills or mountains from the main buildings of a ranch. They were meant to be of rough service and not much finesse was expended in their construction; housing materials like tools and barbed wire and a place for the horses and cowboys to get in out of the weather. This one appears to be suffering from long exposure to strong winds (the barn--not the cowboy or his horse).
