Rob, honesty obliges me to say that I initially thought that Mrs. John Baker was the grandmother of this child due to the slightly weathered appearance of her face. By knowing that she's the mother, I realized that she already had withstand 'some' hardship in her life. Although she had a tough and hard life, I think to see some hope and perseverance in her eyes.
Your perfectly and not overdone colorization confirms to me what I've just said above. Impressive addition to a ditto series, my friend!

It's a proven fact that stress can add years of age to one's appearance. She may be only at the limit (at that time) of her childbearing years, probably her early 40's. My wife is nearly 60 and she looks decidedly younger than this woman.
