Great work, once again your atmosphere is outstanding. Materials are great as well. The lone tree is supposed to be the 'sign of life' but to me it looks a bit out of place imo.
Of course the tree is "a bit out of place" but that is what makes it such an interesting and enjoyable picture. Who would ever expect to see a huge upright tree on top of that knife-like icy ridge. Thanks to Russ we can all marvel at this impossible yet fantastically beautiful creation.
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
Thanks for the compliments everyone. A number of members in another gallery I post to mention the scale of the tree being too large. I didn't think so at the time I created it, but there might be some validity to it. Maybe it's just a very large, old tree - California Sequoia's can reach 300 feet tall. This is a Blue Spruce modified to look cold and dormant.
