Can't imagine why this is listed as Lonely. Everything about it is superb, but with a very shallow depth of field. Whether by accident or intentional, a lens opening that would give enough depth to insure good sharpness to at least the back edge of the cental core would have been preferable, and still provide the same effect for the out of focus background. Even as it is, it's beautiful. The extra depth would give it considerably more impact.
Thank you for that. It doesn't really come alive until you see it full screen on a good monitor. And my pictures don't seem to be many people's cup of tea to begin with anyway. The shot was taken with the new Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens on a 60D body. The numbers are 1/400 sec, f/8, ISO 100, Aperture priority, no strobe. I've been spoiled by the MP-E 65 for it's amazing bokeh, as well as how good the shots look using a ring flash. I've got an adapter ordered that will mate up the 100mm with the MR-14EX ring flash. I'm looking forward to that arrangement.
