I believe this is Sceloporus occidentalis longipes or a Great Basin Fence Lizard. They populate large areas of the western US and are very common at the arboretum. Getting within 2 to 3 feet of them is about their comfort limit and the 100mm lens allows that distance, but just barely. I got three shots with the strobe on and this was the third. I think it has the most 'personality'. This handsome devil was about 8 to 10 inches long and half of that was tail.
