Holy Schnikies, I thought I had a good bug macro. This one blows mine away. I just now looked it up and the females can reach 10mm across, including the legs, but the males rarely surpass 5mm. This is one tiny spider but you caught the actual gleam in its eye. Wow. I have a phobis about spiders but I'm droppong this one into my favorites.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Thank you, everyone. I really appreciate the nice comments. I think the Canon 100mm is the equal of the pin sharp MP-E65 at 1X. It's just an awesome all around lens, and that's in addition to it's superb macro abilities. The MP-E65 can make a match head look like a Mack truck at 5X, but it can't focus past a few inches. You have to get up close and personal and that can really spook critters like this one.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
