When the temperature gets as cold as 40 Degrees Below Zero the planes have to be kept running, if not kept in a heated hanger. Since these were scarce "Herman Nelson" heaters were placed over the engines so they would not freeze. Somehow this one ignitrd some stray gasoline and the Plane was distroyed. No Injuries. (1955 Barter Island Alaska)

Now this is an original photo...a real piece of history. But what a waste of a beauty. I like the debris from the scanning, just gives it that dug out of the box 51 years ago feel. Neat upload:-)
