Hundreds of fishing boats at Chaliyam
estuary await the lifting of the 45-day
trawling ban,which ends tonight(31-7-2010)
Taken from Chaliyam river-mouth.
I feel like I'm watching a travel log or looking at photos in National Geographic when I view your postings. Your world is so different from anything I've ever seen. These shots are almost photojournalism.
Very good depth of field. I like the horizontal layering in this photo. First we have the glorious greenery in the foreground, followed by the muddy water of the estuary, followed by the amazing colors of the fishing boats, followed by the lush tropical trees and finally followed by the sky. My only problem with your photo is the washed out sky. There's a lot of it, and it's awfully bland. If your had some of that expensive software that I can't afford or figure out how to use, you could drop in a dramatic sky with lots of thunderhead clouds. Other than that...it's a wonderful posting.

P.S. Why do they paint the boats so colorfully? It looks great, but fishing boats around here are typically very plain and usually white.
