Built as a 5 sailed windmill in 1830 towards the end of the century it was badly damaged , but was rebuilt in 1892 with 8 sails & cap from a windmill which was no longer in use.

Very nice post Bob, we have windmills here in Michigan, at a town called Holland, MI. Yes, Holland. It's on the west coast of MI. Yours is a great shot, and perspective.
Nice shot of an interesting landmark, Steve. 'Can clearly see the 'works' and textures in the masonry. Is the mill still in operation? ('Been to Holland, Michigan USA -- tourist trap! hehehe)
Next to lighthouses, windmills are a favorite photo-shooting opportunity of mine; however, living in the States does not present this opportunity often, especially long-lived windmills such as this. Nice shot, thank you for sharing.
Brilliant composition my friend! ..
