Yes, I know this doesn't look like a tavern...but it was once. Walton's Tavern is a very old building out in the middle of some really lovely countryside. It is now an antique shop. I walked in with my camera and asked if I could take some photographs, including one of him...and he agreed. We got to talking...he's had an interesting life. He loves this shop (the collection of old games, among many others, is absolutely fascinating) and there is one large room made up of running model trains, which he turned on for me. I am trying to show a sense of a happy person in the right place at the right time, doing something he loves.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Facinating photograph. Thanks for sharing it. I want to check out everything on the shelves, counter and Oh my look at that cash register. I almost want to ask him to move so I can see what's behind him.

You certainly accomplished what you intended, Sharon. He looks very happy and if those were real prices on those shelved items, I'd be very happy too. lol Actually, I thought this was a real store at first. There was until just recently a store in the town where I grew up that sold items of all kinds in its small store space. It was there for over 60 years and though you might not see what you came for, the clerk always knew where to look when you asked for it. Wonderful image that brought me down memory lane.

Sharon - A successful capture, as it does portray well the tone you desired. His peaceful and happy countenance, as he stands among the treasures he has collected, is a delight to view. Thad

If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera. ~Lewis Hine The Earth without art is just 'eh'.

I like it very much. He very much embodies the mood you were going for. Conversely he also seems to be the newest addition to the tavern. lol Excellent details.
