Jess, I think you have a very good picture. I like the darkness around the border directing our eyes inward. The lighting brings out the buds and the flower. The variety of pinks and greens make the photo come to life.

i think what makes it an amazing picture is how you can see the stages of a flowers life. there is the totally closed bud, the partially open one, one more a little more, and then of course the bloomed rose. I love it!

It's nicely presented, I like the way we look straight into the centre of the flower. I think it would be nicer if the whole of the bloom was in the frame, but I like the way you've got the stalks and buds radiating around it.
