Jaipur is a truly amazing city in northern India, famous for many things including Amber fort and jewellery. But here in the back streets I came across a group of workers that showed such speed and concentration. Their fingers worked at lightening speed as they continued the pattern of the carpet that they were making. I hope you like the image.

What a wonderful sight..to see someone engaged in what is fast becoming a lost art. And I envy the person who ends up with that carpet. It will probably last them a lifetime..so much emotion tied up in this image. You did a wonderful job of conveying the air without polluting it.

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

In some parts of the world, people really WORK for a livng. I really appreciate your posting this. Oh, how I would love to see, feel and have one of their carpets, knowing how much they put into that creative work. I'm very glad you posted this photo, and I hope you have more photos of the people in that area to share with us soon. Thank you so much. Verena

Verena, I'm so pleased you like this type of photography. I love taking shots that are natural and capture that moment in time with people.

I have many shots like this from my recent trip to India.. my first time.
