Good photo of the old girl John :) I was on her last Saturday. We went over to Walter Peak for dinner. Fabulous trip, great weather and the food was splendid. She is in good shape for 103 years old !
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
What a great looking craft, much cooler than rebuilt boats made to look like this but obviously missing the mark. I'm thinking the swept back angle of the bow and the opposite occurring at the stern is a creation of your wide-angle lens? What ever the case, i don't mind it 'cause it gives the boat a sense of speed and sleekness. Just a thought but I would have provided a little more water at the bottom and less sky, about 15% to 20% more than what we're seeing, which I think would create better balance in the composition. Orrrr... what I did to set it up for my screen is to crop about half the sky off, a little above the mast, making it a pano, then added a field of black above and below, bringing it to the ratio of my screen and the black made the photo pop in contrast. What luck to have this appear before your lens.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
It does look like you used a wide angle lens, and I like the results, looks very nice. That sky is outstanding and really compliments the rest of the image. tigs=^..^=
