Deep in Big Bend, Texas, is the historic village of Castolon. Just a small cluster of buildings now, it was once a thriving cotton growing community, strung out along the Rio Grande flood plain. This steam engine/boiler was used to irrigate the land and cotton crops, from the early 1920's to 1941.

Interesting story and a really cool selection of colors, but it would be better without the tilt.. Feels like stepping back into the past

Art is the perception of the creator. Meaning is the perception of the viewer. acceptance is the perception of society.

I love the deep blue and how it contrasts with the rest of the picture.

Very nice shot. I love the constrasting colors. A neighboring town where I live holds a big steam engine festival every year... so I have seen them in action. You are lucky to have come across this. Very well done.

I think this is terrific! I really like how crystal clear everything is, including the mountains in the background. What a blue blue sky! The equipment looks to me as if it could still go! Could name this "this place, this time"? I like it.
