This was taken from the balcony, off my bedroom, in my home on Buck Lake.. I had never seen the lake showing that much colour, but suppose it was the elevated angle, as it certainly wasn't as pronounced, at lake level.
I often get a lot of beautiful sunsets near, but never as beautiful as this one! The silhouettes are wonderful also, and the reflection is lovely. The pic has a very surrealism feeling to it. Wonderful job!
Wow Doug! what a sunset! There is sometimes dispute as to the cause of the 'red sky' but its generally understood that it's caused by the acute angle of the setting/rising sun through the earths atmosphere and the light scattering effect that particles in the atmosphere has. Whatever it was, its provided a striking capture that I am very glad you have shared.
Best wishes. John

Today has been officially declared "Dougs Fantastic Sunset Day." I fully agree with those that said this is the most fantastic sunset photo I have ever seen1 A definate 20 but they will only let me give it a 10, so I did. Into my fav's it goes.
This is hands down the most amazing, beautiful, and surreal sunset I've ever seen. The fact that you managed to capture is by far the most amazing part. The only thing I'd have been able to catch would be the drool falling from my gaping mouth!
