Another of this years first blooms, this little beauty is less than half an inch across, and looks more like a white dot, from a standing position. It's unusual to find one practically alone, and the ground was dry enough to belly down, and not crush any others, in the process.

Hello Doug, congrats on this awesome image! I have seen those wild flowers here also. I used to get them in my backyard.

Nice clear shot. But ....compositional-wise ... I think the stick is toooo big, tooo up front! I feel that it takes away from from blossom a little .. my eyes are drawn to the stick's texture and then off the end .. leaving the flower behind.

This is a fine clear shot of the Spring Beauty (Claytonia). But I agree that the stick does compete with it for attention.

The composition IS perfect and I specifically admire the stick which adds to the overall elegance of the image and emphasises the fragility and subtle charm of the delicate flower !!!
10/10.

Stupendous! That is such a delicate and pretty flower. The limb it's next to is picturesque and the colors in the background just set it off perfectly!
