Here's a full shot from the balcony, and I used fill flash to try for a little light on the closest branches. And, no, there wasn't any fire. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

You live near a lake?!! Wow, you are so lucky. There's a lake close to where I live too but I can't see it from my balcony. I just hear the frogs in the evening. :P

I liked the other one too, but this one is much better.. the sky is amazing, and the way it casts a red glow on the water is beautiful... fantastic colours, wonderful shot

Beautiful colouring and the silhouetted trees make a fantastic frame. I love the way the sea looks with the glowing red reflection. Good work. :o)

Excellent shot, Doug. I like what the fill flash did with the tree branches. I like both of your pictures, but this one would be my preference because of the intensity of the color on the lake.
