Believe it or not, I planted this, about five years ago, and it finally took hold, in spite of me. It's managed to mix with another bush, I planted at the same time.

I love the deep color of that flower with a dash of frill in the middle. The other flowers are just jealous.

Well, you know what they say- "Good things come to those who wait" and this certainly holds true with this Doug. What a beautiful flower it is and it's such a show-off nestled against the pink ones. Very pretty.

My wife grows Clematis too, Doug. They need several years to get their roots down deep before they start showing off all their beauty - as in this striking shot.
