The Great Sand Dunes of South East Colorado are something you'd never expect to find in farmland and mountains. And only a few miles off the highway between Durango and Cortez.

Very nice capture but for me I think I would have left the two people in the foreground for a good perspective, and cloned out the others. Just my humble opinion. Tigs♥ =^..^=

Another beauty. I humbly disagree with the comment above. My tendency is to remove all traces of humanity when possible. However, I think the folks in your posting show the immensity and majesty of these dunes. Fantastical.

A beautiful shot with the soft curved aspects of the immense dunes although I can imagine on a hot summer day, it might be inhospitable. I have a feeling water is probably not close by. A most enjoyable post.

Nice capture of the texture of the sand dunes. Hope it was a cool day or those girls are going to be very sorry to be walking out there barefoot. When we were there it got really hot really fast when the sun started beating down. We were glad we were wearing shoes.
