This Blue Heron likes to fish from my dock or raft, but is not fussy about sharing it's catch. This is one out of a seven shot burst with a new 88mm to 400mm zoom lens, all of which were acceptable. Very unusual, as I was hoping for one

You did a good job on the capturing the movement. The water color is very appealing as well. =^..^=Tigs

Hi Doug,
I take a look at your gallery again and don't see other fast motion picture (except ww2 airplane). Congratulations for all new pictures posted here. I saw new format, new equipment and new feeling. I wish to every one to be so full of live and creative like you.
Particular for "The Dinner Cruise" - I would like to point here that the focus on the heron can be better. It's are the hardest moment on the fast motion picture. I think that you can do better the fast motion pictures. It's my challenge to you my friend.
Best wishes!

I see a true Doug compositional quality to this posting with more area in front of the heron. Cropped perfectly. If this were a flower shot, I'd say that you need a contrasting background to make the flower pop. Inasmuch as we don't want the bird to "pop" all over the screen and get innards on our computer monitors, I'll simply say well focused photo of this guy.
