Many hundreds of miles of constantly changing desert growth, mountains, dunes and weather created monoliths across the American South West. Some find it boring. I find it invigorating, and never tire of it's many striking faces.

This is truly a beautiful image, Doug. The clarity of your shots is wonderful. I'm surprised to see so many colors.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

You've produced a very inviting scene. At first glance it gave me a feeling of traveling in a stage coach past these mountains, a feeling probably evoked by the long horizontal frame. I enjoy the sharp focus which helps convey those lateral highlighted ridges. The warm colors are very appealing. Somehow the darker blue of the sky doesn't seem consistent with the well lighted plain. Still, it makes for interesting contrast and an attractive shot.
