I suppose that flowers are a boring subject for some, but aside from their inherent beauty, they're an excellent subject with which to hone your photographic composition and balance skills....and except for windy days, they're a captive audience, allowing any amount of time for experimentation.

Beautiful photo! Some of us are just budding artists but, as this photo confirms, others are blooming experts. :-) Well done!

Doug, if I could find a flower around here at this time of year, I'd rush out and practice my composition. In between freezes and rain showers I tried out some mushroom shots. I managed to lie down on part of a cactus that had blown over in the wind; so my mushroom shots have quite a bit of motion blur in them since I was rolling around in agony within seconds.

Once again you have demonstrated your superior compositional skills. Lovely shot. But I'll bet that I can roll in the mud faster than you can.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

A quickie from the Tokyo airport. Just wanted to tell you how much i liked your image. Jen I will say that I do have trouble with deep red. I must do something wrong.
