Another oldie, this pup was one of eleven born to my first dog. A Black and Tan hound named Smokey. The barn hosted a couple dozen Holstein milk cows twice a day, and puppies are rather curious.

Oh how cute, Doug this brings back memories for me on my Aunts farm where I used to go out and watch them milk the cows.

I can relate to this capture ... puppies are always very curious especially when it involves other animals. I like how you presented the image in B & W. Nice composition too. Very well done Doug.

Very Cool shot, I like it in B/W, with the old weathered wood and straw, this is very well done. I've said before Black and whites ain't easy to do. Nice job Doug.

Doug, Your titles are among the most imaginative and entertaining on Caedes. Your narratives are written like you were a newspaperman. Short and to the point. There are a number of folks on Caedes whose narratives are hilarious and typically better than their photos. Your photos are excellent (except that one with the damn stagecoach); so your task for tomorrow is to work on your narratives.

I've noticed that a few of your postings lately (The Law and the Penalty) have been old black and whites. I guess I'll assume that you took these shots shortly after the camera was invented and before color film was available.

There is an amazing difference to me between this shot and your digital shots. The composition is right on the button on all of your shots (except that one with the damn stagecoach), but I think if you had taken this photo last week instead of in the early 20th Century, the focus were be sharper and the clarity would be crisper.

P.S. Feel free to see me a personal message and tell me to go to blazes.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

You caught this dog in an unusual posture and it conveys curiosity well, especially with him peering into a darker space. That hind paw on the ground that made it into the photo just past the boards gives an impression of very precise composition. If that really was planned, instead of a serendipity, you are a formidable photographer indeed.
