Another shot from my self assigned project, "Alleys of Downtown Detroit" in the mid 1950's. It's a good way to learn to be more observant of things you might notice in passing, but never really see the potential.

Well done, the composition, and your postwork are the tops. This reminds me of being on Bourbon Street in Memphis. I was there some years ago when visiting Graceland. Tigs♥ =^..^=

Doug, I like how you've taken an everyday scene & made it into a piece of art. The variety of textures caught my eye. Nicely done in B & W with great contrasts ... very fitting of the 1950's too.

I guess they didn't recycle card board back in the 50's, Doug. This shot feels very special. It screams, "AUTHENTIC". The back alleys of Detroit must have been relatively safe back then or were you a dare devil back then as well? Faved and nominated.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

Nice. I'm wondering if you changed anything in the setting before you took the shot.

With all those dents in the door it looks like they've been tossing out garbage before opening it. The carton may explain that. Interesting photo. Too bad the lettering wasn't painted in Baskerville Semi-Bold Italic. :-)

Great photo Doug. I first thought it was a photo from the alcohol prohibition era and then realized that you can't be that old.

The thing that goes the farthest, towards making life worthwhile, it costs the least and does the most, is just a pleasant smile.
