This is a spillway from Devil Lake to a no longer functioning lumber mill. It is now in use as part of a hydro electric generating system. The vines that overhang the spillway make good use of the constant spray during the Winter, and form some interesting shapes on occasion.

I like how you captured the motion of the moving water. The ice formation on the left do appear like bells on a string. Great color contrasts too. Superbly captured Doug.

The ice bells are interesting but the water really steals the show. The galaxy of highlights in that rushing spillway contributes a good deal of exciting detail. Love it.

I really like the water capture in this one, and I'm a fan of ice and water as well. I like the formations they create. But just can't get into going out in it this year. Tigs♥ =^..^=

Once again Ed got here before me. His command of the English language puts me to shame. Nonetheless, Doug, I'll plunge onward with my critique using some monosyllabic grunts and misspellings.

When I saw the postage stamp size of this shot, I thought I was looking at some baby shoes hanging over Niagra Falls. The full sized version is indicative of your skills at capturing nature at its simplest. Ed is right. The baby shoes ice looks great, but your exposure time on the water really makes this shot feel wet and cold. Once again I fell over backwards to avoid the onslaught of rushing ice water. You'll be hearing from my attorney.
