This Osprey nest is probably big enough now to be rated as a semi-detached. Mom and Dad have two good sized youngsters in there but are keeping them out of sight. They can just barely get there heads high enough to be seen when the parents are off fishing. It's obvious what the weight of that nest has done to that tree top. A nice early July day on Buck Lake.

Aptly titled shot, Doug. I sometimes feel that I have my own personal issue of National Geographic when I view your shots on Caedes. I consider myself to be an environmentalist and a "tree hugger". Considering the apparent damage being done to this perfectly good tree, I believe that the ospreys should be shot and eaten. I understand they taste like chicken.

Seriously, this is a wonderful posting of your home woods. I love the balance of the shot created by the imbalance of the tree. That nest must weigh a ton. Beautiful work as always.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

A fascinating shot of the Mr. and Mrs. building a castle in the air. Great coloring, composition, and subject matter, as usual.

Wow, that's quite a large nest & I'd say the young one's have plenty of room to be nutured by their parents. I like how the tree top leans to one side thus filling the frame. Wonderful capture with excellent detail, Doug.
