This was a small rail yard, not far from the Rio Grande in Big Bend, Texas. The tracks are gone, but the building appears to be in good shape and is probably used by the Park Service/Rangers. At one time, there was significant farming in this remote desert area, with adequate water from the river.

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

A nicely composed scene with lovely sharp lighting and colours. A slight bit of noise around the edge of the roof line that could be cleaned up. Very nicely done.

Doug, This posting gives me the exact opposite feeling as whatever I felt when I viewed "The Karate Kid". This posting has perfect balance and composition, wonderful and true colors, no noise or blur, perfect focus and unimaginably pure clarity. This would be a perfect 10 if there were a few fluffy clouds in the sky. Actually that's not even true because the clear blue skies enhance the feeling of unlimited visibility.

The composition is exquisite as others above have noted. And the colors do look both rich and authentic which is an uncommon achievement. My only nits are that the shadow on the building is so strong it gives us no hints of detail such as we see in the shadow on the butte. Also that tuft of tumbleweed, or whatever it is in the roof vent, is a bit of a fly in the ointment, to my eyes, and I'd remove it. The touches of rust in the foreground add additional and agreeable warmth to the color scheme.
