Desert country in Southern Arizona. These Saguaros reside just outside of the Organ Pipe National Park boundaries. The park borders Mexico and the Sonoran desert. Main difference between Saguaro and Organ Pipe cactus is that the Saguaro has limbs, and are frequently larger.

Nicely done in B & W, Doug. It almost looks like the Saguaro's are getting ready for a showdown ... Western style. The sky adds some drama to the scene as well. Very well done.

Dramatic seems to best describe this scene from the lighting to the composition. Nicely presented b/w photo. I like the softness of the focus. Good work and thanks for sharing.

Great presentation, Doug. My best guess is that you use either the magic wand or the lasso to grab the sky and blur the heck out of it. The rest of the focus is needle sharp. My personal preference would have been color, but the black and white seems to make this more of a period piece.

I love the sharp focus, the subject, the composition, the boldness of the tall cactus against the dark sky, and the title. I'm a little less enthused about the sky because the busy, strongly contrasting shades make it compete with the cacti for attention. The fine lines of the brush contribute an agreeably delicate touch.
