This is just run-off from the higher ridges, and what we term, "Drowned land" This beaver dam is longer than it appears, but was somewhat compressed due to correcting the perspective. For me, this is an engineering marvel
Have to agree with you, an impressive engineering marvel. A nice capture of the dam and wetlands, Doug. I like the sharpened colours in the scene. Good work.
AVATAR BY PJ............... i've been so bad about commenting on your photos. believe me when i say i look at them all. feel free to NOT comment on mine. Please Visit My Gallery
This is a gorgeous shot, Doug. We don't have any beavers around here maybe because it doesn't rain for six months out of the year and most everything dries up except in the Sierras. I was talking to a local beaver family and tried to explain to them that a straight line is the shortest distance between two points. However, they explained to me something about engineering and aesthetics. It seemed like jibberish to me, but I've never built a dam.

P.S. Beautiful posting. Nothing to complain about yet again.
i was looking at this picture for a while, just marveling at the creation you made from the actual photo and at what you changed to make it look like a work of art. the dam isnt the center of attention but most certainly is interesting. lovely work aqui
