Since "The Kennedy's" (TV mini series) started on our History channel last Sunday, it gave me an excuse to try another FotoMix collage. For any young folks, that's President Dwight D. Eisenhower (Ike) upper left, the U.S. President preceding J.F.Kennedy, and on either side of Kennedy (in the central grouping), left is Sen. Hubert Humphrey, and right, Walter Reuther, president of the United Auto Workers Union.

We could use some Statesmen like that. It's not going to happen in the near future, I can't name one politician that would put their Country ahead of their party out there right now.

But thanks for the memories, wonderful photo, Doug.

Very good presentation, Doug, and an aptly titled posting. These guys were good politicians, which is an oxymoron these days. They say that power corrupts, and I can't think of an elected official in a higher office than city councilman who owns their own soul.

I guess you're still dealing with inclement weather since I've seen no recent photos of daisies. It looks like FotoMix is a great way to pass the time.

Dots

P.S. Great colors.

I was just a baby when JFK was President...Humphrey was the Dem Presidential Candidate running against Nixon in the '68 elections (I was six then)...Ike and Reuther were before my time...

Speaking of Nixon, I clearly remember Watergate, and the televised Senate hearings, though...

Anyway, nice collage...Favs...

Very nicely done, Doug! I have a ton of emotions about those times. I was a freshman in high school when JFK was elected... those were exciting times, and it seems to me that things have gone seriously wrong and downhill ever since... Thanks for the memories!
