When I saw the title, Doug, I wasn't sure what I might find. Happily this is a peaceful enough shot in the woods. Your posting makes excellent use of light and dark contrast to create a real 3-D look. "Just another image in the woods while pursuing early flowers" hardly seems like a detailed and honest appraisal of this beautiful piece of work. I just downloaded this for today's desktop. For some reason I find myself staring at the area on the trunk where the bark fell off.

Much like Dorothy, I was half expecting from the title to see some poor lumberjack pinned beneath this once mighty tree. An interesting find. I see the dutchmen are all gathered around for this solemn occasion. Good textures and lighting in the photo.
