A lonely Iris on her own. For any who have never tried Flash Fill, the flash was used for this as it was a rather dull and poorly lit area. If your camera has this capability, it will be explained in the camera manual. There are various camera methods for activating Flash Fill, and they're model specific.

A gorgeous iris & you surely brought out her colors by using the Flash Fill feature. Sometimes I like to take flower photo's around dusk & always use Flash Fill when the lighting isn't ideal. I like your composition too & the detail is wonderful as well as the DOF. Very well done, Doug.

What can I say that hasn't been stated in the multitude of comments above mine? The composition is perfect, the depth of field is perfect, the colors and detail work are perfect. There's nothing wrong with this posting. If I gave out 10's, this would be a 10. I hereby award you two wow's, one attaboy, three groovies, two far *%@#'ing out's, a fave, and a 9.49999999999 out of 10.
