I'd say the horse did find heaven. I love all the greenery, but sense a bit of a blueish cast to the image ... more evident on the horse itself. Could have very well been the lighting. The composition works perfectly though. Well done, Doug.
"Wait for it, wait for it. Dorothy will undoubtedly be here soon."
(Drum roll.............Dorothy strides from stage left, acknowledges the vast audience of well wishers and adoring fans, smiles and motions for the audience to cease the thundering, standing ovation, repeatedly says "thank you...thank you" which is barely audible over the crowd's roars of approval. After nearly 10 minutes, the crowd sits in anticipatory silence as if the next utterance from Dorothy will be a life changing experience)
Dorothy speaks....
"Is he implying that I'm a horse's ass?"
The crowd is stunned. Heads are spinning from left to right. The noise the crowd makes sounds like the buzzing of a swarm of angry bees until a woman screams and points and the man at her side bellows, "There he is. That's Doug. Get him!!!!"
Scene 2. It's a gray day with a wisp of a wind. There's a constant drizzle of rain, the sound of a train whistle wailing in the distance like the howl of a lonely coyote as two people and a dog stand alone in a cemetery. The padre says, "Here lies the finals remains of Doug. He was a fine photographer but was pummeled beyond recognition by an angry mob. Some say it was a misunderstanding, an accident. Yet there were no arrests and to this day most people say he had it coming." He looks up at the sky, turns to view the nearly deserted cemetery and says to the only other person, "Dorothy, would you like to say a few words?" Dorothy shakes her head, cries into her exquisitely hand stitched and monogrammed lace handkerchief. She wipes a tear from her mustache, looks absently at the monogrammed "RL" on the handkerchief and says, "Come on, Blue, let's go home."
Oh my, oh my !!!!! LOL LOL really ROFL The reason for my enjoyment is not just your image, dear Doug, though. Dots comment, I would risk saying, almost equals the image quality and the author's introductory narrative - Now it's my time to laugh !!!!!! SAM
A nicely composed scene, Doug. The blue cast to the horse is a little overdone, then again maybe the horse is finding the rarefied air of heaven hard to breathe.
