Don't know what this is, but was the only flower I spotted on our long morning walk today.... and it was the only one of four that wasn't in deep dappled shade. Hopefully someone will recognize this bundle of RED :-).
Doug, This is a beautiful capture of my favorite flower, the dahlia! They are in full swing around here In Sept. You captured this one in peak form. Tigs♥ =^..^=
I hate to disagree with Sandi, Doug, but this is a common silk flower that they sell at the local craft stores. Obviously Blue snuck off earlier in the day and purchased a couple of fake flowers so that you would have something colorful to post. I think you should turn to Blue and say, "Good Boy" and give him a treat. Ollie does the same thing with me. Some mornings I get up, and he's nowhere to be found. Typically the car is also gone, and he knows he's not supposed to drive with a suspended license (DUI). He heads into town and buys compressed fog which he releases before our walk. He thinks he's getting away with something. I know his heart is in the right place; so I don't punish him. I say, Good boy, Ollie" and give him a little milk bone even though I know he prefers PBR.

Love the angle you captured this lovely Dahlia at. Focus is a tad soft in areas, but I sure do love the red & green contrasts. Beautifully captured, Doug.
From the title I thought maybe you had left something out on the clothesline too long. Glad to see I was wrong. A nice closeup on the dahlia. Beautiful colours in the photo.
