Wendell's recent image reminded me of another bench, well back in the woods, where I occasionally rest my bones while walking Blue. I used a new B&W Topaz Effects filter which seems interesting at full screen, but rather busy in small format.

An interesting effect ... the image looks almost sepia, but with a bit a green tint. Nice composition & I like the lighting surrounding the bench. Creative work, Doug.

Oh, shit, here we go. Now it's benches. The next time I see Wendell, he's going to get a royal ass kicking. At least a bench is better than a flower at least in my book.

As always, Doug, the composition is flawless. I know I don't have your knowledge about all of the downloads, plug-ins and filters, but I would think that the B&W Topaz Effects filter would have something to do with black and white photography. The foreground does look monotone, but the rest has varying degrees of green. I'm not saying that as a criticism, just an observation.

I'd love to get the back story on how such a nice looking bench ended up in the middle of the woods. Must have been placed their by the Norse god of weary bones just for your use. Or Maybe it was St. Dorothy, the patron saint of tired photographers.

What is the proper benchmark used to grade bench photos?
I like the focus work in the photo, Doug. Nice composition of the shot and good post work to bring out the beauty in the scene. Looks like you have yourself a wonderful place to sit and relax.
