I don't know what the correct botanical name might be, as that's the only name I've ever heard these flowers called. We called then knickers when I was wearing what looked like them, to school a couple centuries ago.
They really are delightful little flowers. They almost look like little faces. The leaves and growth pattern, hanging from a stem like that reminded me of bleeding heart, so I looked them up and sure enough, these are also member of the 'dicentra' species. Wish I had some of these growning here in the shade of my house. Nicely captured with good contrast, Doug. No mistaking that these little lovelies are growing in the shade.
To think there are a bunch of breek-less dutchmen running around out there somewhere thanks to your photographic effort. A nice capture of the flowers, Doug. Good colours and dof in the photo.
This shot ranges from black shadows to bright light and still doesn't look busy. Nice job of keeping the background under control.
