I'm surrounded by trees, some of which come up through the deck....this being one of them. The twig with the cones was just lying on the deck, so I stuck it into the bark, and hoped for the best. Didn't think I'd get anything, as the wind was fairly strong, and this is the sharpest of 7, though not really sharp, but it's interesting.

It sure is a delightful nature shot with the green green of the pine needles and the russet browns of the cones. Good idea sticking it into the tree bark because it makes such a fine background texture and is in keeping with the theme. I like the frame dimensions too.

I like the 3D aspect of the pine cones, their vibrant brown and green color. While I like the idea of the tree bark behind them, it makes the image seem very busy to me and more difficult for my eye to resolve on the main topic. I think a more blurred background would be effective.

It does seem to have a 3D effect. Nice idea in your arrangement of the little stem.

Interesting shot, Doug. Interesting in that I have a million of these shots. When I walk in the hills, it's always windy. Nearly impossible to get a focused shot of anything. There's nothing like a branch or a twig floppin' around in the wind to try your patience. You still managed to get some good colors out of the shot.

I like it, the way the cones are set against the bark of the tree makes for a very nice contrast of nature. Tigs♥ =^..^=

Great idea, Doug. The tree bark makes a perfect background for the pine cones & pine needles. I like the colors. Nicely done.

A nice dof with the way the twig stands out in the shot. God textures and colours, too bad the sharpness is off.

The difference between a bad artist and a good one is: the bad artist seems to copy a great deal; the good one really does. ~William Blake
