The ice was just forming a few weeks ago, and the fog just beginning to lift when we took this trail for our morning walk. It was rather drab, but still worth a few shots. Sorry I couldn't manage to coax any beaver up on the ice.
You weren't slapping your tail hard enough to attract the beaver, Doug. The fog creates a great atmosphere for this scene to go along with the "drab" colours and lighting. It looks like the beavers have built themselves a large pond to play in.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
You really captured the cold Doug - it is a pleasure to view from the comfort of midsummer :) The fog adds an air of desolation warmed by the foreground shades.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
An image with a built-in chill for sure. The junior tree, the lichen, and the rusty color of the foreground add interesting detail to what would otherwise be a very bleak scene. So top marks for composition. Hope your next submission dispels the shivers.
