I might have used the magic wand to isolate the wood on the right and used a couple of clicks of positive gamma to lighten it up. Other than that it's a beautiful scene that looks nothing like my wood splitting area which is an eyesore. Wait a second!! Directly above the pile of logs in the center is a horizontal line that looks very suspiciously like a portion of a power line.
Eagle eyes thinks that's a power line? If they had power, why didn't they just turn on the furnace? lol Just kidding. It's great to have access to this way of warming up one's home. The fire is cheery and your cheeks get nice and pink hauling in the wood. Did this exclusively for twenty or so years and occasionally still do. I like to see stacked firewood; the more the better. It means the people who have it won't freeze their tootsies off in the bitter cold. Great Winter image, Doug.
My hubby just bought a modern small log splitter. It does the job faster and less heavily. The fire glow in the evening is very soothing..Superb winter photo,Doug.
Roger must have better eyes than me I can't see the hint of a power line, but what I do see is a well taken and well composed winter image. Tigs♥ =^..^=
I like the colors and textures in this photo, and cobalt shadows on snow are always a treat for my eyes. The photo communicates well a crisp winter day. The only critique I'd make is that it lacks a strong center of interest which gives the impression it's a stage setting awaiting a performer. The random wood pile at center lacks the scale to fill the role. The long sliver of green at left adds an extra highlight of pleasing color.
