We've spent this winter walking the woods, as neither of us can keep our footing on the icy lanes. Every direction is either up or down. It's prettier anyway, regardless of the terrain.
All the elements contributing to flow in this photo are intriguing. The foreground rock leads the eye up the ravine, the trees on the left lean a bit toward it, on the right there are twigs and saplings leaning the other way toward it, the dog is looking that way, the horizon slopes toward it, and even striations in the snow lead toward it. The photo conveys a thorough visual unity.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Blue seems to be leaning. Try running it through ShiftN. (just kidding).
What Ed said above, exactly what I was going to say. I'll bet he could beat anybody at Scrabble.
Love the composition and those frigid colors. I was at the beach today wearing a t-shirt and shorts. It was 82° and my face is sun-burnt. Your wintertime shots are gorgeous, but I'm not sure they could force me out in that white stuff.
It appears to be quite rocky there too. Still I have not had the opportunity to see as much snow as you have this Winter. Blue looks so big or I'm just not used to seeing labs in profile. What a great companion for these Winter walks. I could never let my dog off leash. And, yes the off road terrain is much more beautiful than the roadway.
Doug: 1. how old is Blue 2. he definitely shows some characteristics of a mix with some giant breed 3. by all means lovely image. Thanks, dear, Yours SAM
