Here are some current Poppies. About an hour old. Don't know whether that's a caterpillar looking for a fix, or part of the Poppy. Didn't notice it at the time.

Doug,l the luminous look of this is outstanding, beautifully done, once we upload sometimes we do see things that we did not notice when taking the shot. :) Tigs♥ =^..^=

I love those poppies and that does look like a caterpillar to me also. I don't recall seeing something like that but of course I don't look under the blossom.

Good colours and lighting in the photo, Doug. I would have liked to have seen a sharper focus on the petals of the foremost poppy.
