A few days ago I happened to see the first image I posted of Ike at this press conference, and although the comments were quite positive, it was from six years ago when I was just learning to use my first computer and digital editing programs. I thought I should replace it with something that better showed the piercing intensity of his eyes. I used Kodak B&W Tri X, ISO 400, which was still rather grainy back then. The over smoothing is the result of slightly exessive Noise reduction, but doesn't adversely affect his eyes.

I like Ike, and those eyes are intense. Nice work on this one.

Wonderful softness, but still the eyes do look intense, it didn't take anything away from those eyes. Great work on this.

I Like Ike! I remember when I was a kid, at the bus stop lots of the children were using that phrase and I knew my parents were for Adlai Stevenson, so I ignored them. Today, I have learned more about Ike and respect him for his ideas and his prognostications about the future.

I like your photo too, but maybe the blur is a little too much. It kind of draws away from the character of his face. But the crop and and black and white are really nice.

Not to Play expert, but, at This point in His life I should think him Full of Lines and Character. Being one of the Most formidable Influences upon the 20th Century, let his Lines show... He earned Every one of Them! Other than That little Rant, I love the B&W, and the Shading... a Very astute Post!

This is a great piece of history Doug. The eyes say it all.

Would have made a great June 6th posting, Doug but it's close enough.
