Why, Doug!! I'm surprised at you. This is a sunflower, but you dyed the pedals red.

The colors seem a bit overpowering to me. Here's an alternative view. Let me know what you think.

The colors make for a strong contrast, (which I'm a fan of) but I think there is some loss of detail from the saturation.

Very vibrant, indeed. Maybe your monitor needs a little bit of adjustment because I am seeing what Tigs sees, but then again, perhaps you wanted to make this look posterized.

Don't know what the flower is, but it resembles a painted daisy. They are unusual in color as you said.
