The sun has just risen above the horizon into a rare cloudy sky. It's close to the Mexican border in Southcentral Arizona. These Saguaros can outlive us by a hundred years.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Terrific b/w, specially makes the clouds look very ominous. Nice work.

Well, Ima have to pile on! Love the contrast and tonal range in this. I had no idea Saguaros lived so long. I guess that's how they get so big. Excelent work. Enjoyed.

This one grabs your eyeballs and just doesn't let go. The sky is wild & surreal, with an almost rendered look. You hit all your thirds pretty nicely too, virtually textbook.

A great b/w presentation of this desert scene, Doug. A nice sharpness in the photo. A lovely sky and lighting. The highlighting on the edges of the tall cactus is a minor distraction as is the graininess in the sky along the right edge of the photo.
