This 4 1/2 ft. water snake is just looking for a place to relax and digest all the frogs he's eaten recently.

What a fine capture of this slithering, silent, scaly, and awesome creature my Friend. That couldn't have been easy to see. You've got a great eye and your work is impeccable.

Well... this woke me up more so than my coffee. I am not a snake fan , but I did view this full screen with a gun in my hand. It's a great shot and like Sandi hope you used a zoom lens. Excellent detail and I like the colors surrounding the snake. Crystal clear I can see that from his eye which I feel is starring at me. Nicely done, Doug.

Did you stay far, far away for your shot? It's a really good one.

If the snake wants it, he can have it Doug. I can't yell too loud when I am running. :)

Magnificent capture and he's a gorgeous Northern Water Snake in Ontario. Excellent detail and colour. He truly is a magnificent fellow indeed

When I was little in North Carolina, my poppa made my brother and I to learn about snakes because we had some real poisonous ones. I use to go and catch snakes but I knew better which ones to stay clear of.

I could probably get a shot like this...if I were up and tree with maybe a 400mm lens. LOL. Excellent color and clarity, and a durn tootin' good shot.

This goes a good deal to explaining why Kermit suddenly disappeared off the air. A nice closeup on the snake, Doug. Good details in the scale pattern.
