This is in the Bear River near the southern tip of Nova Scotia, Canada. It's a tidal river and I just happened on it as the tide was receding. What surprised me was the clarity.

You're at the bottom end of the Bay of Fundy, Wendell. That's full of silt by the time it hits Truro. Bear River is fed directly from the Atlantic, and whatever highlands are further North.
