In the side streets surrounding city square, street artists patiently await tourists who may commission them to create a sketch, or just stop to admire their work. It's much like the left bank in Paris, but on a somewhat smaller scale.

It is not the artificial sepia look but the original true colour and that makes a difference Doug. Good sharp interesting image.

Your photo-journalistic background is showing, Doug, in this superb and moody shot. These guys remind me of James Dean and Jack Kerouac and the beat generation. Love the "fag" dangling from the guitarist's mouth.

This is very cool and brings back memories of the many street artists in the 60's.

I remember seeing quite a few street artists in NYC several years ago. Some do amazing sketch work & of course the artists were happy to see tourists. I like the guy with the guitar & cig ... so 60-ish. Excellent capture, Doug.

What a great shot of a very cool scene, Doug.
It reminds me of some shots I have seen of Old Town in Chicago from the early 60's .
Excellent work .

Is that the Terry Mosher of the Montreal Gazette fame sitting in the chair. I hope you stopped and had him draw a sketch of you. A good street scene capture Doug.
